Running is a great way to discover the best spots of a new city while staying active and soaking in the sights around you. There are countless cities around the world that offer phenomenal running experiences, but here are our top 5 picks to help you plan your next running adventure à la Marco Polo.

Empire State of Mind (and Body): New York City, USA

New York City is a runner’s paradise filled with iconic landmarks, bustling streets, and beautiful parks. Central Park is a favorite among runners for its scenic paths, rolling hills, and vibrant atmosphere. The city also hosts the largest marathon in the world, the New York City Marathon, which attracts runners from all over the globe. The marathon takes runners through all five boroughs of the city, offering not only breathtaking views of its towering skyscrapers but also an immersive discovery of the hope that New York represents, which Alicia Keys sang in the chorus of Jay-Z’s hit song.

From “The Wall Jumper” to The Spree Runner: Berlin, Germany

Berlin is known for its flat and fast terrain, making it ideal for runners who would like to run in the city and set personal records. The city is also home to the Berlin Marathon, one of the World Marathon Majors, which takes place in September every year. The race course is known as the fastest route among the world’s major marathons, making it a popular choice for elite and recreational runners alike. In addition to the marathon, Berlin offers a network of scenic trails along the Spree River and through the city’s exquisite parks.

Son Goku’s Snake Way IRL: Tokyo, Japan

A huge part of global pop culture is anime, which is a Japanese colloquialism for “animation in Japan.” Many famous anime and manga artists and studios are based in Tokyo, making it a popular destination for fans looking to visit their favorite creators. But another thing that the city takes pride in is being the hub of runners in Japan, courtesy of the Tokyo Marathon. It is the only marathon in Japan that draws elite runners and mass participation, putting it on par with leading marathons worldwide. (Trivia for those who are not into anime or Dragon Ball Z: The Snake Way is a one-million-kilometer serpentine road in Dragon Ball Z Kai that Goku, the protagonist, navigates in the episode called “Son Goku Runs in the Afterlife!”)

The Square Mile: London, United Kingdom

London is a historic and diverse city with a rich running culture. “The Square Mile” refers to the original City of London, comprising a modest 1.12 square miles in the heart of the city. Since its inaugural event over 40 years ago, the London Marathon has established itself as an annual highlight on the sporting calendar. The marathon begins at Greenwich Park and ends at Buckingham Palace, taking runners past iconic sites like the Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf, The London Eye, and the famous Big Ben. Additionally, the city offers a network of scenic trails along the River Thames and through the city’s beautiful parks, where runners can stop by for some sightseeing. Another interesting fact is that couples have gotten married or celebrated their wedding at the marathon event.

AIRian’s Road: Seoul, South Korea

Seoul is a dynamic city with a mix of ancient traditions, cutting-edge technology, and—the worldwide phenomenon—Korean Wave, which includes K-pop and K-drama. The city is where the globally-acclaimed Seoul International Marathon takes place in March each year. The marathon course, as highlighted in the 17th edition of The Shib, takes runners through the heart of the city, past historic temples, modern skyscrapers, and vibrant neighborhoods. The marathon’s IP belongs to the world-class media conglomerate Dong-A Group which has partnered with the Web3 running project known as AIRian to enhance the participants’ running experience. On top of that, Seoul offers a variety of parks and trails for runners to explore, including the scenic Han River Park and the challenging trails of Bukhansan National Park.

Explore New Best Cities For Running and Getting A”Runner’s High”

These five cities offer unique running experiences for runners of all levels. If you’re looking to participate in an internationally-recognized marathon, explore iconic landmarks, or simply enjoy a leisurely run through a new city, these destinations are highly recommended. So lace up your shoes, hit the pavement, and start exploring these amazing cities by foot!

At the NFT.NYC, the event hailed as the Woodstock for the Non-Fungible Token (NFT) ecosystem, where the digital fabric of the future is woven by today’s pioneers, James Lim, the Chief Marketing Officer of AIRian, captivates the audience with a vision that transcends digital boundaries. Emerging from Seoul with ambitions as dynamic as the city itself, AIRian, the world’s largest Web3-based community running project, is more than just participating in the NFT revolution, but redefining the industry through a unique fusion of physical activity and digital innovation.

Bridging the Divide: AIRian’s Global Perspective

With a background as diverse as the NFT landscape itself, James brought to NFT.NYC a vision shaped by his Korean heritage and Canadian upbringing. His work with AIRian, a beacon of innovation in the Web3 space, is driven by a mission to harmonize the digital with the tangible, to build bridges where walls once stood. In New York, a city that epitomizes the blend of cultures and ideas, James shared how AIRian leverages this diversity to connect the world by blending the universal appeal of running with the innovative potential of NFT technology.

“AIRian is on the way for discussion with diverse off-line events with NYC and the major cities in the U.S. that have great running communities, crews and marathon IPs, etc.,” the CMO told The Shib in an exclusive interview. “AIRian’s priority is always to get real users with real-life activities and experience within the community, NOT staying inside the boundary of Web 3.0.”

Trailblazing into the Future: AIRian NFT Revolution at NFT.NYC

Run Toward Global Connectivity

Central to Lim’s message at NFT.NYC was AIRian’s flagship application, Runner X, a digital platform incentivizing physical activity with $AIR tokens. With its roots deeply embedded in the ethos of health and community, Runner X goes beyond the traditional app boundaries by integrating NFT technology with the act of running.

The executive also proudly announced the app’s achievements: over 100,000 downloads and a vibrant community eager to merge fitness with the digital frontier.

Through strategic partnerships with the world’s most prestigious marathons, including those in Seoul, New York, Chicago, London, Berlin, and Tokyo, AIRian, more than just creating a platform, is creating a movement.

A pivotal innovation within AIRian’s ecosystem, as emphasized by James, is the $AIR token. Despite his absence from the event, Jay C, AIRian’s CEO, conveyed his insights to The Shib, revealing the deeper purpose of $AIR. This digital currency transcends mere engagement, nurturing a vibrant community devoted to health and well-being.

Jay C articulated, “$AIR functions as a crucial link, marrying the pursuit of personal wellness goals with the surging domains of NFTs, cryptocurrencies, and Web3 technologies. It bestows genuine incentives for activities both in the virtual space and in physical wellness,” thereby amplifying James’ narrative at NFT.NYC.

AIRian: A Symphony of Partnerships

James’ story transcended merely showcasing AIRian’s technological strides; it epitomized the potency of collaboration. With advisors hailing from varied backgrounds, including the revered Shib Army, the steadfast and devoted members of the Shiba Inu community, and trailblazers from Axie Infinity—a blockchain-based gaming metaverse emphasizing digital collectible pets and battle dynamics—AIRian’s voyage epitomizes collective wisdom. These partnerships extend far beyond advisory roles, with notable collaborations such as the Hedera Foundation, renowned for its blockchain-esque distributed ledger technology (DLT), illustrating AIRian’s dedication to a future where technology harmonizes with humanity’s needs.

Starting from Seoul, where the journey commences alongside the Dong-a Group, AIRian’s ambition spans cities worldwide as it aims to materialize the Runner X experience through live events. James’ vision is resolute: to create a world where digital interaction and physical vitality converge, forging interconnected odysseys that foster healthier communities on a global scale. For Jay C, this journey involves not just the creation of events but the forging of strategic alliances in cities celebrated for their vibrant running cultures.

“These collaborations and gatherings in locales noted for their enthusiasm for running,” Jay C explains, “are thoughtfully designed to weave together individuals from various backgrounds, united by a love for movement and a curiosity for the emerging world of Web3.” This strategic move aims to bridge communities, fostering a shared passion for activity and innovation in the digital age.

Join the AIRian Movement

As AIRian continues to pave the way for a new era of digital engagement, the vision articulated by Lim at NFT.NYC serves as a beacon for the future. It’s a future where technology enhances our physical experiences, where digital communities are bound by real-world activities and the boundaries of Web3 are expanded to include everyone, everywhere.

As James concluded his enlightening session at NFT.NYC, the invitation was extended to all: become a part of a global community where health, technology, and NFTs converge to create a new paradigm for the digital age. With Runner X, AIRian is not just predicting the future; it is actively crafting it, one bold step at a time.

As a serial entrepreneur, his ventures have consistently yielded successful outcomes across a spectrum of industries. Jay’s entrepreneurial path is distinguished by his adept blend of creativity and visual prowess, culminating in the establishment of AIRian. Under his guidance, AIRian’s mission is to spread the exhilaration of walking and running to a global audience, fostering a dynamic and enriching Web 3.0 community in the process. With his sights set on leveraging his unique strengths, Jay C is on the cusp of becoming a leading figure in the Asian Web 3.0 space, with the potential to make a significant impact worldwide.

James Lim, AIRian’s Chief Marketing Officer, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to amplify the project’s global impact. With a unique blend of Korean heritage and Canadian upbringing, James embodies a visionary outlook, dedicating himself to driving projects of global significance forward. As the sun peeks over the horizon, casting its golden glow upon the world, our mornings unfold—a canvas of opportunity waiting to be painted with purpose and vitality. Whether you’re an early riser or a reluctant snoozer, crafting a morning routine can set the tone for the entire day.

Let’s explore four invigorating practices that will jumpstart your mornings and propel you toward a successful day.

1. Sunlight Boost: Rise and Shine!

The first rays of sunlight hold more than mere warmth; they promise a fresh start. Exposure to natural light upon waking helps regulate your internal clock, syncing it with the natural rhythms of day and night. Beyond that, sunlight stimulates vitamin D production, which is essential for strong bones and a robust immune system. So, throw open those curtains, step outside, and bask in the morning sun—it’s your daily dose of vitality.

2. Morning Meditation: Cultivate Inner Calm

In the hustle of modern life, finding a moment of stillness can feel like chasing a fleeting butterfly. Yet, dedicating a few minutes to meditation pays dividends throughout the day. Sit comfortably, close your eyes, and focus on your breath. Let thoughts drift by like clouds, allowing your mind to settle. Meditation reduces stress, enhances focus, and sets a positive tone for the hours ahead. It’s like sipping a cup of serenity before diving into the day’s tasks.

3. Light Jogging: Wake Up Your Body

Imagine your body as a finely tuned instrument waiting for its morning tune-up. Light jogging is the melody that gets your heart pumping, your muscles engaged, and your nervous system firing. A brisk jog around the block or a few laps in the park will invigorate your senses, boost circulation, and kickstart your metabolism. Plus, the rhythmic thud of your sneakers on the pavement is a beat that syncs your body and mind, preparing you for the day’s symphony.

4. Balanced Breakfast: Fuel for the Journey

Breakfast—the word itself conjures images of steaming coffee, warm toast, and a plate laden with nutrients. A balanced morning meal is like priming an engine before a long drive. Include protein (think eggs, yogurt, or nut butter), fiber (whole grains or fruits), and essential nutrients (hello, vitamins and minerals). This combination sustains your energy levels, prevents mid-morning crashes, and keeps your focus sharp. Remember, breakfast isn’t just a meal; it’s an investment in your day.

Runner X: Morning Jogs/Runs Made Even Better

Runner X, nestled at the heart of the AIRian ecosystem, is a decentralized haven for global runners. Here’s how it aligns with your morning routine:

  1. Running Modes: Choose from entry, running, or marathon modes based on your purpose. Earn points, level up, and enjoy item rewards to keep you motivated.
  2. Point Rewards: Beyond running, Runner X offers various reward systems, including referral events. Accumulate points and enhance your running experience.
  3. Ranking System: Compete and find purpose through the ranking lists. Whether you’re a casual jogger or a marathon enthusiast, there’s a place for you.
  4. Level Up: Gain experience in entry mode and watch your profile shine. Encouraging 10,000 daily steps becomes second nature.

Bonus for those who love both crypto and fitness: $AIR is the governance token of the AIRian ecosystem, which Runner X is a part of. Earn $AIR through running or exchanges. Use it for event tickets and crew rooms, or withdraw it externally.

Remember, your morning routine is personal. Experiment with what works for you, and let these habits become second nature. Whether you’re chasing the sunrise or conquering your to-do list, make each morning count! 🌞🏃‍♀️

A much-anticipated annual marathon recently concluded, showcasing the unmatched running prowess of its participants. A huge part of this yearly race is AIRian, a Web3-based running project. In collaboration with the Dong-A Media Group, a very influential group of South Korean news and media companies, a community of global runners has united to dominate the event which takes place every year in the capital and largest metropolis in South Korea: Seoul.

1931: Where It All Began

Officially known as the Seoul Dong-A Marathon, the Seoul International Marathon, or simply Seoul Marathon, was established in 1931. It holds the prestigious title of being an IAAF Platinum Label road race, making it a highly respected event in the running world. It’s also the second oldest marathon in the entire world, just behind the Boston Marathon.

Dubbed “The Miracle in the Han River,” the Seoul International Marathon winds through key landmarks of Korea’s modern history. Starting at Gwanghwamun Plaza, it passes by the city hall and the reconstructed Cheong-Gye-Cheon stream before concluding at the Jamsil Olympic Stadium.

Last year, Adidas was one of the race’s sponsors, and they shared some highlights in this awe-inspiring event film.

Seoul Marathon IP by Dong-A Media Group

The intellectual property rights of the marathon are owned by the Dong-A Media Group, a luxury media group founded in 1920 which manages a wide range of publishing, broadcasting, and digital media ventures. These include Sports Dong-A, DUNet, Dong-A Science, and Dong-A.com.

A strategic alliance with Dong-A.com has equipped AIRian to bring a multitude of running and marathon events onto Dong-A’s various premium running events, including Seoul Marathon and all the other 16 running IPs.

Enter AIRian: Bringing Web3 to the Fore

AIRian CEO Jay Chung outlined the distinct roles of both AIRian and the Dong-A Media Group for The Shib. The media giant offers support for the Web2 functionalities of the Seoul Marathon IP, while AIRian adds its expertise in Web3 technologies.

“Dong-A is the oldest company in Korea. Dong-A is in its 105th year and has a lot of businesses. It’s too huge an organization to apply the legacy to Web3, so AIRian proceeds with everything in Web3 [for] Dong-A,” Chung said.

March 17 marked the triumphant return of the Seoul Marathon for the second time after COVID-19, as it had been on hiatus for years due to challenges caused by the pandemic. Runner X, AIRian’s revolutionary dAPP, was the highlight of the event, providing each participant with an enriched marathon experience.

The AIRian Culture and Legacy: Shaping the Future of Running

AIRian has a long-standing marathon tradition that goes beyond just Seoul. With a collection of more than 16 events, each adding a distinct element to the marathon experience. The AIRian team has worked on a ticketing system through Runner X, inviting runners from all corners of the globe to be part of the AIRian adventure.

With this interplay between Web3 and running as a sport, AIRian aims to welcome 150,000 marathoners to its growing community, strengthening the cultivation of a global culture among its members.

There are 300 million runners worldwide, and AIRian has secured its position as the dominant force in the Korean running and marathon landscape.

“The ultimate goal is for AIRian to become the world’s largest running community,” CEO Jay Chung said.
